WWE Draft 2011 + My Thoughts

Well, coming off the heels of Monday Night Raw and with Extreme Rules this Sunday, things are getting interesting. Now then, the Draft is a huge event, making superstars jump from one brand to another. It would be new faces on each brand and something new would happen. But a lot is on the line since we are facing Extreme Rules this Sunday.

At first, when John Cena was drafted to Smackdown, I was happy. But by the end of the night, Cena was back on Raw. Bad move? I think so, however, Cena is a huge star, regardless of what other people think of him. I still like him if he was on Smackdown or still on Raw, as long as he's a great guy, shut the fuck up already.

Alberto Del Rio coming from Smackdown to Raw is huge since he's going to face Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday. Either Del Rio will win and take the title to Raw (Not likely) or Christian will be the new face of Smackdown. I believe in Christian and he deserves it (plus, he was a good ECW Champion). COuld this mean that Miz is in trouble from losing the title? Not really.

Ah yes, the dream match between Sin Cara and Mysterio has to be put on hold as they both were drafted to different brands. Mysterio to Raw would be interesting and now I can see Sin Cara going after the I.C. Championship now, which is great in my eyes. One day, these two will face each other one day.

Randy Orton to Smackdown is pretty big move for him and I see him going after the title in the future, depending om what happens after Extreme Rules. I bet anything something is going to happen after Extreme Rules. Would Orton remain a face? Or will he become a true viper and turn heel? Only time will tell.

Other then the whole Cena episode, I'm 50/50 on this draft. On one hand, many things can happen. On the other hand, new matches can happen now. It all depends what happens next week when it really takes effect after Extreme Rules.

Playstation Network Down..........So What?

Well, as many would have guessed, the Playstation Network has been down for almost a week now. I here from both the Sony fanboys crying that they want it back ASAP while the Microsoft fanboys are rubbing it in their faces that they can't play their games online. With these two sides fighting each other, this is what I have to say:

So What?

Yes, I for one am a bit mad that PSN is down but on the plus side, at least Sony is trying everything in their power to fix this problem. Heck, I think after this, the PSN is going to be better for everyone to use after this mess is over. On the other hand, a lot of big games like Portal 2, Mortal Kombat and SOCOM 4 were released the day before PSN shut down is a bad way to start a big gaming week. However, shit like this happens to the big boys.

What I'm saying is that when things look bad, look at the end result and everyone is going to be happy. Sure, in the long run, many people are mad at Sony because of this, they might repay the favor for us that still decided to be with them.

Y2Jant Reviews: Mortal Kombat (2011)

Ladies and gentlemen, April 19th will go down as the day of video games. Many great games were released but one game that everyone is talking about is the new Mortal Kombat game. Returning after Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, many believed that Mortal Kombat was going soft. But with this return, it proves that Mortal Kombat is back and better then ever.

With graphics as great as it can ever will be and only fighting like the old school Mortal Kombat, this game amazed me. The story follows the first three MK games in the series but retold from a bit of a future standpoint.

From what everyone is telling everyone, Raiden is fighting a losing battle against Shao Kahn. In a last desperate move, Raiden sends a message to his younger self in hopes to prevent Kahn from taking over the Earthrealm (It's Earth with the MK name to it). Now you take the role of a cast of MK Fighters in Story Mode in order to try to prevent what might happen. The cut scenes are really well done and it really tells you the story behind the MK series that everyone can follow.

New to the MK World is some of the new moves and features that make this game stand out from other MK games. For one, it's your basic Arcade Ladder, where you pick your favorite fighter and battle to the top of the mountain. Also, a returning favorite is Tag Team matches. Your basic 2 on 2 match, with players switching between two characters. Even four people can play at the same time, making it a challenge for fighters because with a single tap of a button, the match can change.

Challenge Tower is a series of 300 (yes, I said it) challenges that pit the player against different foes and different set of rules to pass. Once you beat all of them, you will have a reward that even I don't know yet. All I know is that Test Your Might is back, as well as Sight, Luck and Strike. Everything about it makes you wonder what is that final challenge and what that prize could be.

Online wise is based upon the online features of the last Mortal Kombat game and here is where you can go to different rooms and challenge different people as well as chat with others. King of the Hill mode is a fun little online mode that again faces you and a online opponent. However, in the foreground, you see a bunch of mini Kombants cheering or booing at you as you fight. It's a fun little feature to pass the time and be with friends.

With a good amount of characters and future DLC coming soon, Mortal Kombat is the step in the right direction for the series after a few hits and misses. Overall, I would give the Y2Jant seal of gaming with a 9.5 out of 10.

Y2Jant Remembers: Eddie Guerrero + Wrestling Thoughts

Sometimes, being a wrestling fan is tough sometimes. When you think your watching some great matches and think that it's the top of the mountain, it ends somehow. Being a fan of wrestling since 2000, my first pay per view being No Mercy, I did miss a lot of wrestling growing up. I didn't know ECW. I didn't know about WCW. All I cared about was WWE and that's it. And then comes Eddie Guerrero. Everytime he was in a match, I cheered for him. Many really don't know the love I have for Eddie.

Over the years after I started watching, yeah, got a lot of people talking bad about wrestling. Yes, it's true that it is fake. That's why it's called entertainment for a reason. I love everything about it and I miss being there live. And Eddie was the man to entertain the crowd.

October 2005, me and my dad went to see Smackdown, live from Reno and there was Eddie, at the time being a major heel becoming a face again. To see him smile and cheat for a win made me smile and stand up and clap. Eddie amazed me that night like never before. I wanted to continue cheering him on. I wanted him to be on top of the mountain again and hold the title. It was the last time I would ever see Eddie perform.

The following month, my dad told me that a wrestler recently died on television and I was wondering who it was. Turned out that Eddie had passed away and I was heartbroken. I've lost my favorite wrestler in the 5 years I was a fan of it. Watching both tribute shows made me cry that I lost a great wrestler.

Fast forward 6 years later, I'm watching Eddie's DVD's at the moment and see how it was when Eddie was still around. Yeah, I do get comments that wrestling is all show but I smile and think of Eddie. He was the one who put the Hispanic community right there and made sure to raise above the others and not care. Eddie remains to me one of my favorite wrestlers of all time because he fought his demons and defeated them.

Maybe that's why I don't mark out anymore because where's the passion I saw in Eddie years ago? With Edge retired and everyone else just there, nothing else seems to fit this picture much. That's why I don't watch TNA because it's bad. As for ROH, I don't watch it either because it's yet to make that huge impact on me at the moment.

Sin Cara might be that light some old school fans are waiting for. He may not be Eddie but he is a gifted luchador that wants to make it big in this business. With time, he will be big and maybe then, I will mark out in the future. Why must I ramble about this you might ask? Because of two reasons:

1: I will miss Eddie Guerrero every single day and to hope that one day in the future, to see Eddie perform a great match in the heavens with the other greats.

And 2: To let the haters know to continue hating on Cena, and the matches and all this kind of stuff. I'm not the one to rant (I got many friends that do that on Tuesday night) because I tend to just watch and enjoy, just like how I did when I first saw WWE live for the first time.

WWE Raw Aftermath 4/4/11

Things are going to get interesting now that Raw has ended. Just one day after Wrestlemania XVII, Wrestlemania XVIII seems to be already set as The Rock, in front of the millions, has laid down the challenge to face John Cena at next year's Mania. Is this a right move? I honestly don't know at this point. Anything can happen from now until next year. Maybe we will see something happen now, let's wait and see. My opinion is that it might either happen sooner or later. Not by Mania but hell, I don't care.

Sin Cara made a very impressive debut and it looks like that Sheamus is in trouble. I believe this. Sin Cara is the next U.S. Champion. I've seen some of his matches in the past and he is impressive and will entertain the fans for years to come. I promise you that one day, Sin Cara will make Mexico proud. He is gifted in the ring and will win the U.S. Title (plus, it made my dad watch Sin Cara debut tonight so that's a plus in my book).

Wrestlemania XVII Aftermath

An event that happens only once a year and this year, it was interesting. The stage itself looked good and I knew that tonight was going to be something like no other. And here is what happened at Mania!

Edge would defeat Alberto Del Rio with the Spear to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Good match to start of the show but I'm a bit confused on why have the WHC match first on the card.

Cody Rhodes defeated Rey Mysterio (who was Captain America this year) when Rhodes used Rey's knee brace and then hit Mysterio with Cross Rhodes. This is by far my match of the night at Wrestlemania, very good match between these two.

The Corre lost against the team of Kingston, Santino, Big Show and Kane. Short, sweet and to the point.

Randy Orton defeated CM punk with an RKO from a diving Punk, very interesting match and thought it was alright.

Micheal Cole would win the match against Lawler when the GM of Raw reversed the decision as a DQ.

The Undertaker defeated Triple H by submission and extends his streak to 19 and 0. Triple H is not only the 19th victim but is the 3rd man to lose twice to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania (Kane 14 and XX, HBK 25 and 26).

Team Snooki defeated Team Laycool.

The Miz and John Cena fought till a double count out, but Rock came out and restarted the match. However, he hit Cena with a Rock Bottom and Miz retains the championship.

Overall, I liked Mania but this felt a bit lacking in some matches. I give it a 7 out of 10. Match of the night has to go to Rhodes and Mysterio, that match is my favorite of the night

Y2jant's Top 5 Favorite Wrestlers

Well, after much thinking, I have picked my top five. These five wrestlers have amazed me in their matches and if you agree or not, that's okay, I don't mind, I am still a young wrestling fan. I will sum up that little history for another time. For now, let's begin!

5.
john cena Pictures, Images and Photos

John Cena

I remember when Cena took on Kurt Angle when he first debuted. At first, I hated this guy, I'm not going to lie. But as he started to become a fan favorite, I realized that he loved what he did. From changing the design of both the U.S. and WWE Championship belts, Cena is a great wrestler both in and out of the ring.

4.
Rey Mysterio Pictures, Images and Photos

Rey Mysterio

The real King of Mystery, Mysterio is very talented in the ring over the years I've seen him perform. When he debuted, I knew that he would be one hell of a great wrestler. He has come from other promotions before WWE, like WCW and ECW. Mysterio continues to perform but now I wonder how he's going to be like compared to Sin Cara.

3.
Alberto Del Rio Pictures, Images and Photos

Alberto Del Rio

Boy, in the months he debuted, he's a few days away from becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. I really like Del Rio, he's the perfect heel and the crowd really does hate him and yet I have always liked him. He shows a bit of class in the ring and makes his opponents submit. But you guys already know that.

2.
Chris Jericho Pictures, Images and Photos

Chris Jericho

Now here's a man that I respect in this wrestling world. Jericho has the skills as a wrestler and a talker. I remember when he was just wrestling here and there and then the news hit me that he was the Undisputed Champion really shocked me. Jericho has come and gone again and again but I sense that we haven't seen the last of Jericho in the WWE.

And my number 1 favorite is a no brainer:
Eddie Guerrero Pictures, Images and Photos

Eddie Guerrero

The Late, Great Eddie Guerrero will always be my favorite because of how he performed in the ring and how he was facing his inner demons for so long and finally managed to have a good life and have things better for him. Sometimes I wonder how the business would be like if he was still with us performing. From his themes to whatever he has to say, he made me love him and hate him as a heel but he cared so much for the business. He will be missed every single day. From his low rider to being a brutal heel against Rey, he knew how to perform in the ring. It's the kind of magic you don't see much in WWE nowadays.
